An intensive two year programme for writers of East Asian and Southeast Asian* descent, the Professional Writers Programme will be starting its second iteration in May 2020. The PWP will support four early career playwrights in writing a full length play by the end of the two years.
This year the writers will be selected in two phases. For Phase 1, up to 12 writers will be invited to participate in weekly group meetings to develop a treatment for a new play. These meetings will be held on Saturday afternoons at Soho Theatre, London on 9/26/23/30 May 2020.
From these writers, four will be selected to continue on to Phase 2. Each writer will receive a seed commission and 1 to 1 dramaturgical support to complete their new play during the two year programme.
